Idea #16: The Mummy Door Kids Lose Their Minds Over
Wrap an interior door in white streamers, add two enormous googly eyes, and you have a mummy standing guard over the hallway. Of every idea in this gallery, this is the one children will talk about until Christmas.
Crisscross the streamers loosely — gaps and crooked strips make it better, not worse. Tape only at the edges and top so the door still opens freely. Put it on the bathroom or a bedroom door for maximum surprise effect. Total cost: about three dollars. Total delight: unreasonable.
