Idea 7: Toss a Plaid Flannel Blanket Over the Sofa Back
A classic red-and-black buffalo check or a muted green plaid flannel blanket folded over the back of the sofa is basically the uniform of cozy fall living rooms. It adds pattern without commitment and doubles as an actual blanket for movie nights. Fold it in half lengthwise and let it hang evenly — or drape it diagonally for a more relaxed feel. Walmart and Target sell perfectly good flannel throws for $15–20. If buffalo check feels too expected, try a subtle windowpane plaid in cream and tan.
