Idea 6: Swap a Solid Cabinet Door for Glass

You don’t need all-glass cabinets — replacing one or two solid doors with glass-front versions creates depth because the eye travels into the cabinet instead of stopping at a flat door. Display only your prettiest white dishes and glasses inside; hide the mismatched mugs elsewhere. If new doors aren’t in the budget, remove a door entirely and style the open cubby (paint the interior a soft color first). Replacement glass doors run $30–60 each at cabinet refacing shops, or check Habitat ReStores for salvaged ones.
