Idea 12: Hang One Statement Pendant, Not Three Smalls
Three tiny pendants over a small space chop it into visual pieces. One larger pendant — a 14 to 16-inch woven rattan shade, a milk-glass globe, or a simple brass dome — creates a single focal point and actually makes the ceiling feel higher because the eye has one place to land. Hang it 30–36 inches above the table or counter. Rattan pendants are everywhere right now for $50–80 and they throw the most beautiful patterned light. Make sure it’s on a dimmer; overhead lighting should always be adjustable.
